TILIG (today I learned in Germany) So many things:

  1. If you don't prepare, Sunday meals can really suck because no stores are open Sunday. Yeah, I'd been told this, but it's really sunk in today.
  2. If you don't have a working Microwave, oven or dishwasher, you learn to improvise with an electric kettle!
  3. Kartoffel snacks are cup-a-noodle mashed potatoes and are crazy good.
  4. They sell far more honey than Peanut Butter (judging by the size of the product on the shelves) and far more jelly than either of those.
  5. Things in grocery stores are not nearly where I expect them.
  6. German potato salad is da bomb.
  7. Again, many of these are just adjusting to a new place. All of them are good. We're enjoying Germany so far. Had a great meal at VogelHaus. Love me that pork belly.

In the second entry in my continuing series "Today I learned in Germany":

TILIG: When you buy a printer from Amazon.de, the user interface is in German and cannot be changed. Good thing I need to learn German.
